Bright Star
Last night we watched Bright Star. It's is a drama based on the three-year romance between 19th century romantic poet John Keats and Fanny Brawne, which was cut short by Keats' untimely death. Very moving and beautifully acted and filmed.

Old New Again!
This is an antique lamp I grabbed out of an old barn. Have you ever seen such a unique lamp? Electric and Candlelight? Who'd have thought? The original shade was missing from the shade frame so I took some wire and wrapped it around by hand on the top to attach it to the frame and along the bottom for decoration.

Another Gorgeous Day
Started out early in the morning with our friends, Gary and Jan - took a drive to S.F. to deliver some furniture pieces, had lunch with Nancy and Patrick, drove to Petaluma to deliver another piece and browsed around the downtown Antique Fair. Ate our way through the day with all sorts of fun foods. ;)

My son, Seth, recently joined a band, Six Weeks Sober, and last night was his first performance with the band. They play Hard Rock and Seth plays the keyboard. Here's some pictures from last night's gig in Alameda.

Take Me Out to the Ball Game!
This afternoon we took in a ball game, T-Ball, that is. Our grandson, Aiden, is number 2 in these pictures. It was so cute, he was actually skipping around. At that age it's just about getting the coordination down and just keeping it plain fun.

Baby Shower!
My daughter, Shilah, and granddaughter, Angelina, went to a baby shower over the weekend for our friend, Laura. What fun!!
We played three shower games. Don't say 'Baby,' Baby Bingo and Baby Food Game. For the Baby Food Game we had to try to figure out what the flavors were for 12 different baby food jars with the labels removed. So many jars of baby food with green and orange colors, hard to tell the difference between them. There was a tie for the winner, three people had 7 correct. I had 6 correct. Oh, and of course for the 'Don't Say Baby Game, I was the second one out. How can you not say baby? Bam! Lost my baby clothes pin. :0

Springtime Clean Up
Last weekend we worked in the backyard all day both Saturday and Sunday. Many hours of hard work but it paid off. We cut back all the ivy (we have ivy growing all along our fences,) trimmed some branches, pulled weeds, pressure washed the brick which was covered with moss. The moss is very pretty, but going into the house from the brick patio we track it in, which isn't so lovely.
The ivy had completely taken over one of our trees. We cut the ivy back every year, however we must have missed this section for several years because the ivy trunk was about 12 inches in circumference and you couldn't tell where the poor tree was hiding. You can see the tree above, it's the brown trunk just behind the woodpecker on the birch tree. You can also see where I dug out and removed an ugly plant that took off and invaded the grassy area. I was so glad to get rid of that thing. Well, now we have this ugly bare spot that we need to patch up.
Sunday we pressure washed the house to clean off all the winter dirtiness. I also repainted two screen doors. The house and yard looks so nice and it's now all ready for some summertime fun!
