Emi Sunshine

Someone shared a song that this young girl did on Facebook and ever since, I've been in love with her style and her voice.  There's something about the deep south, the people and the music that speaks to my soul.

Here's some videos of her that are amongst my favorites.  Hope you enjoy ya'll.

Here's Emi singing Horrible Highway.

Here she is on The Today Show.

Irish Beach Barn

I just finished this little painting today.  Here it is listed here:  Irish Beach Barns.

We used to have a vacation home in Irish Beach and we love the coast.  I took this picture many years ago with the intention of painting it and finally, I did.  This barn is just north of Irish Beach heading up the coast.  I wanted this to be a quick and loosely interpreted painting.

More Time Spent with Seth...Art and Music

Seth worked on another painting today.  It'll be listed in his new Etsy shop soon.
Here's his Etsy Shop link: Seth's Shop.  Be sure to read his About Page, it's funny.

He did some woodworking.  This morning, after church, he played a little piano music.

Fresh and Local

Drove out to Green Valley Farmer's Market Festival this afternoon.  They have it the first Sunday of each month between noon and 4 p.m..  Fresh and local fruits, vegetables, eggs, jams, local honey, meats, wines, homemade breads and goodies.
Ray and Vicky's Ranch.
We picked up a dozen fresh eggs and a couple jars of jam from Ray and Vicky.
Mike bought a large pretzel.
These pies remind me of the ones we get over in Sebastopol at Andy's Produce.  My oh my goodness.
Sorry, I don't like Kettlecorn.  Too sweet for me.

But I do love biscotti and we ended up taking three bags home, each a different flavor.

Music and Sunsets

My son, Seth, playing one of his pieces.  Isn't it beautiful?

Here's a couple of gorgeous sunset pictures that Mike captured one night on our camping trip last weekend and I forgot to post.  Looks like Hawaii, doesn't it?

A Little Getaway

We went to Olema over the weekend with some friends.
Hiked a few miles on the Bolinas Ridge Trail.
Andy and I waiting for Mike and Donna.
Gorgeous scenery and meadows.

Drove to Bolinas for a short visit.
It was very windy on the beach.
We didn't stay too long because the wind was cold.  So we walked into town for a drink.
Walked around the town of Point Reyes Station.
Andy and Donna's new rig.
Donna doesn't want to be one of those campers that sit around and talk about their rig and all the gadgetry and rims and whatnots on it.  She doesn't want to call it a rig.  ha ha

One of the definitions for rig; • another type of vehicle, such as a horse-drawn carriage.

Our son, Seth

Seth visited us last weekend for a couple of nights.  While he was here, he helped us with some projects and worked on a painting.

Here's a video of Seth when he first started working on this painting.  Link HERE.
Seth opened his first Etsy shop and you can find it HERE

HERE he is working on a project for us, cutting metal and HERE'S another one.

I'm very excited about his new shop.  He is so talented.  Here's a drawing he did when he was between nine and eleven years old.  There is some glare because it's behind glass.

Mike's Barber Poles

Barber Pole Link.
We recently sold this barber pole and I just found out that it's for a museum in Illinois.  Here's the link to the museum where it's being installed.  It's all finished and we're shipping it out this afternoon.

Mike makes the barber poles and I paint the stripes on and do all the finish work.

As far as big names goes, so far, we've sold a pole to Disney and to Facebook.  Here's the commercial that our Disney pole is on.  Our barber pole is near the end of this commercial, it's right behind the old guy reading the paper on the bench.  The set with brick buildings is a faux set that Disney created with the help of a set design company.

See the great big ball on top?  Mike carved that 9 inch ball by hand.  He's pretty amazing.
