Point Reyes Station and Cataract Falls

Early yesterday morning the four of us hopped in the truck and drove into Point Reyes Station for breakfast at the Pine Cone Diner.
Afterward we drove to Cataract Falls for a nice hike to work off our fullness from breakfast.
Park at the hairpin turn just past the dam on Bolinas Road for the Cataract Falls hike.
Begin the hike traveling along a dirt trail that runs alongside Alpine Lake.
Serenity now.
Lots of steps to climb.
Sharyn and Greg pause to take in the beauty.
And still, more steps...
We decided to turn around at this point (around the third or fourth waterfall) and go check out the nearby town of Fairfax for a little window shopping.
When we got back to the campsite, Michael turned on our new electric fireplace that he recently installed.  Our camper got toasty warm in no time.
A real sweetheart.
While in Point Reyes Station, we stopped at one of my very favorite places, The Cowgirl Creamery.  We picked up some wine and cheese and crusty french bread and then headed back to the campground for fireside snack time.
My idea of a grilled cheese appetizer.
Had some company stop by, too.
