Oatman

Since we had to spend one night in Needles, CA, out in the middle of nowhere, I Googled "What to see in Needles" and discovered several to choose from.  We decided to drive up to the old town of Oatman, Arizona to see the mules roaming freely around town.

The miners abandoned their mules when they abandoned the gold mines and now their offspring are roaming the town.

If you decide to visit Oatman, don't bring carrots as the site says to, they cannot feed them carrots any longer, it makes them aggressive and overweight because of the high sugar content.  There is food to purchase in many of the shops in town and you can feed them that instead.  We were informed that the mules are available for free adoption.
