New Plein Air Paintings

Here's my most recent pieces along with a cabinet I designed to hold original oil paintings.  These were all painted on location, en plein air at various locations around the San Francisco Bay Area.

Church Birdhouse

Yesterday I made this cute white little church birdhouse. I'm having fun designing and making these. Each one can be customized on the church color and window trim/roof colors.

Just Stuff

I cannot believe it's already February and we're well into spring like weather here in California. It's been in the mid 70's lately and things are blooming already.

I've been busy working on some new designs for the shop, designing new cabinets, shelves and some cute rustic bird houses. Here's one of my new tree cabinet designs. This is a narrow profile cabinet but it can be customized in all sorts of ways. The measurements, placement of the tree doors, shelf placements, etc..

If you would like this cabinet with some changes, here's what you'll need to send me;

Measurements needed. Height x width x depth (depth is how far it sticks out when hung)
Any other details about the shelf you might want different.
Your zip code.

My Michael, Michael S. Moulthrop...My Love to You, Honey

My husband had two names. He was known around town as Mike, the barber and as Michael, the photographer.

#39 Daily Painting - Showing Frame

This is a potted plant that I painted plein air in Locke, CA, on a bright sunny day. It was a scraggly little plant in a clay pot with pitiful pink flowers. I set my easel and in no time set to painting.

Painting #28 - All Aglow

I know, I know, I haven't been posting a painting every day. I've been very sick all week. Some nasty bug I caught that has made my asthma flare up and every night I'm having trouble breathing. I'm missing my gym workout so much and am sick of the inactivity. I've been forcing myself to paint whenever I have the energy.

Tomorrow I'm going to be painting at a big event at Rush Ranch and on Sunday I'll be painting at another event at a winery in St. Helena. Both are events that are open to the public and they've invited plein air groups to participate. Should be fun, I'm looking forward to painting plein air this weekend as I've pretty much been cooped up in the house all week.

So, I guess I should redo my painting a day goal to A Painting a Day, As Long As I'm not sick. :-P

Here's a painting I did before I got sick.

Plein air #23

Here's my latest, it's an 8 x 10. When we were painting in Tiburon last month, I snapped a photo of this house by the roadside with Mt. Tam behind it for future reference and decided to do a quick little study of it.

#24 Landscape - Point Reyes Seashore

We were painting in and around Point Reyes and happened to come upon this beautiful scene off the road. There was nowhere to park to paint this plein air so my husband slowed the truck down for me to capture a reference photo.
