Carmel by the Sea and Monterey

The first morning we walked to the beach.

I found this washed ashore blue jug of half full motor oil on the beach and carried it back up to the proper recycling receptacle.
Went to Safeway for some groceries and stopped off to check out the old military barracks.

Thursday we visited Monterey for photographs of future paintings.  Had some fish & chips at the Wharf.

Drove to Mission Ranch late that same afternoon for a few shots of these cute wooly guys.

Spent all day Friday and Saturday in Carmel, browsing the shops and galleries.  Mostly the art galleries.
Bought some imported European chocolates at the candy shop.
This couple can be found talked about Here and is #29 in this post.

The nunnery above is Carmelite Monastery.

After walking and walking for hours in Carmel, we stopped off at La Playa to rest our weary feet and enjoy the well manicured flower garden.  There is plenty of seating around, chairs and tables and benches.  No one was around except us and a couple of workers that stayed out of sight for the most part.  We had the whole place to ourselves.
