What is New and My YouTube Channel

Hi There! I know I've neglected my blog for some time now, I've been so busy getting ready for some exciting things that are happening.

I'm going to be in a new art gallery opening up in Benicia, California. Today is my day to go hang my paintings on my wall space. I'll post more about the gallery and the location tomorrow. The gallery is on First Street and the grand opening is this coming Saturday. I won't be there because I'll be at Back Road Vines, Art on the Vine.

This weekend, Saturday and Sunday, is Art on the Vine held at Back Road Vines in Fairfield, CA. I will have a booth featuring my original oil paintings. If you live local, please visit and be sure to pop by and say hello to me. This is a fun event, free to the public and free parking. Wine tasting, food, music and original art by local artists.

My painting was chosen for the postcard this year. I painted this plein air at Rush Ranch in Suisun.

This past month I've been painting, making and painting frames for my artwork. My husband, Michael made the frames for me and I painted and did the gilding on the trim. They turned out so beautifully. We've already got an artist up in Placerville area that ordered some frames for her original pastel paintings. She is a fabulous artist and we're honored that she likes our frames that much.

Also, I'm on YouTube, featuring my plein air painting on location around the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond. Wherever I travel, I bring my paints and supplies. Please subscribe!

Handmade Frames for My Original Oil Paintings

Morning Glories, Mare Island
This post is only half of my paintings that are framed and ready for the upcoming art show, Art on the Vine, held at Backroad Vines in Fairfield, 2221 Julian Lane, June 3 and 4, 2017 and for the new art gallery opening in Benicia that I'm going in, The Little Art Shop, opening June 3, 2017.

Mike has been hard at work making the frames and I hand painted them and did the gilding by hand, too. I love how they turned out, he did a beautiful job.

Below each photo is the title of the painting, if you click on that, it'll take you to the page the painting is listed on our Etsy shop, Honey's Treasures.

I'll be posting the other half of the framed paintings as soon as I paint them and we get them into place with wire on the back.

#39 Daily Painting - Showing Frame

This is a potted plant that I painted plein air in Locke, CA, on a bright sunny day. It was a scraggly little plant in a clay pot with pitiful pink flowers. I set my easel and in no time set to painting.

Mike made the frame for me and I painted it Cottage White and added gold leaf trim along the inside edge. I like how it turned out. In fact, I have a big art show coming up June 3 and 4 at Backroad Vines in Fairfield. I'll be there doing some plein air painting and selling my latest paintings.

Come on out if you're local, listen to some music, have some wine and enjoy the art vendors. Be sure to pop by my booth to say hello! I might post again when it gets closer to June but just in case, put it on your calendar. I'll have my easel and will most likely be in my paint clothes working on some view of the vineyards. The painting shown on the postcard above is mine and I should have it with me for sale if it doesn't sell before then. lol

Painting #29 A

Amador Fall
When we were camping at Jackson Rancheria, we drove around doing plein air painting. This house set against the vineyard was what caught my eye.

Painting #28 - All Aglow

I know, I know, I haven't been posting a painting every day. I've been very sick all week. Some nasty bug I caught that has made my asthma flare up and every night I'm having trouble breathing. I'm missing my gym workout so much and am sick of the inactivity. I've been forcing myself to paint whenever I have the energy.

Tomorrow I'm going to be painting at a big event at Rush Ranch and on Sunday I'll be painting at another event at a winery in St. Helena. Both are events that are open to the public and they've invited plein air groups to participate. Should be fun, I'm looking forward to painting plein air this weekend as I've pretty much been cooped up in the house all week.

So, I guess I should redo my painting a day goal to A Painting a Day, As Long As I'm not sick. :-P

Here's a painting I did before I got sick.

Painting #27 - Pleasants Valley Farm

The frame below is handmade by Michael and hand painted by me.  Mike has been very busy making a bunch of frames for the upcoming art gallery I'll be going in, in June. He's also making them for several of my paintings that will be at the Art on the Vine event in Fairfield on the same first weekend in June.

Painting a Day - #24 & #25

You saw this one from yesterday's post from painting at the iris farm. Here it is again, as painting a day #24 and below this is painting a day #25. I figured it's been awhile since I posted my daily paintings, (I've been busy working on orders) that I should try to get caught up here.

Plein air #23

Here's my latest, it's an 8 x 10. When we were painting in Tiburon last month, I snapped a photo of this house by the roadside with Mt. Tam behind it for future reference and decided to do a quick little study of it.

#24 Landscape - Point Reyes Seashore

We were painting in and around Point Reyes and happened to come upon this beautiful scene off the road. There was nowhere to park to paint this plein air so my husband slowed the truck down for me to capture a reference photo.

Happy Easter and Daily Painting #20

I hope everyone has a lovely Easter today. This was painted at Big Break Regional Park in Antioch, the same day I did the clouds over the water with the windmills in the previous post.
